Providence St. Mel School

Providence St. Mel School, on Chicago’s West Side, has an impressive track record of providing inner city children with a quality education. Providence St. Mel, an independent preschool –12th grade college preparatory school, has a record of achievement that is unrivaled. Since opening its doors in 1978, 100% of Providence St. Mel’s graduates have been accepted to four-year colleges and universities. Moreover, since 2001, an average of 50% of the graduates have been accepted to schools rated by U.S. News & World Report to be among the “tier one” institutions in the country. On the 2012 standardized Terra Nova test, PSM students ranked in the 80th percentile, exceeding the norm of their peers across the country by a full 30 points. As a result of their determination, remarkable test scores, and impressive extra-curricular activities, the class of 2012 was awarded over $3 million in college scholarships. Providence St. Mel School is proud to be able to offer such a high quality education, and is grateful for the many donors who help to make that possible.
