Gala 2013
In celebration of GALA 2013, Chicago’s civic and cultural leaders will gather at Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s artistic home on Navy Pier. Living art installations and theatrically-inspired décor will serve as the backdrop for this unique entertaining opportunity. Highlights of the event include the presentation of the third annual “Spirit of Shakespeare Awards,” honoring those who keep the spirit of Shakespeare alive through community service and artistic leadership, and an artistic program of star-studded performances. The 2013 Civic Honoree is Richard M. Daley and the 2013 Artistic Honoree is Stephen Sondheim. All proceeds go to benefit the Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient’s far-reaching education and civic engagement programs, including Team Shakespeare and Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks.
