The Butterfly Ball celebrates all moments of wonder. Over the last 23 years, Butterfly Ball has raised $38.5 million in support of the Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. This support enables the Nature Museum to make a tremendous impact on the community as we build educational experiences for Chicago’s children that will reverberate for generations to come.

About Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum

Education has been the hallmark of the Chicago Academy of Sciences for the past 160 years, and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is the public face of those efforts today. Each year, the Nature Museum offers engaging educational programs for explorers of all ages. Plus, they are a leader in local wildlife conservation and restoration, a center for public engagement in ecology, and a forum for dynamic public programs for all ages.

The Nature Museum’s mission is to create a positive relationship between people and nature through collaborations, education, research and collections, exhibits and public forums that foster urban connections to our region’s nature and science.
