About Navy Pier
Since 1916, Navy Pier has been integral to the social, cultural and economic advancement of Chicago. As it begins its second century as a nonprofit organization, it is guided by its newly defined mission: Navy Pier is the People’s Pier, Chicago’s lakefront treasure, welcoming all and offering dynamic and eclectic experiences through partnerships and programs that inspire discovery and wonder.
A distinctive urban treasure, Navy Pier is nearly a mile in length and features 50 acres of waterfront space and magnificent vistas. It is home to Polk Bros Park, the 20-story Centennial Wheel, Aon Grand Ballroom, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, WBEZ, Chicago Children’s Museum, AMC IMAX Theater, Crystal Garden, and much more.
Navy Pier, as a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the establishment of dramatic and engaging public spaces, aspires to become a leading example of environmental sustainability, and proudly offers affordable, year-round free arts & cultural public programming. We invite you to experience the new Navy Pier.
