After School Matters’ 2023 Gala

The After School Matters Annual Gala celebrates the incredible accomplishments of Chicago’s teens while raising important revenue to continue serving nearly 19,000 well-deserving teens throughout the city each year.

Since 1991, After School Matters’ innovative and engaging after-school and summer programs have served more than 350,000 teens from communities throughout Chicago, providing them with opportunities to explore and develop their talents, while gaining critical skills for success in college, careers and beyond. These programs provide a safe space for teens to foster positive relationships with professional instructors and fellow teens throughout the city. Our nationally-recognized approach, incorporating project-based learning and 21st century skill development, not only enriches lives but also helps to revitalize underserved neighborhoods by leveraging existing resources and infrastructure and fostering partnerships with other organizations, companies and institutions.
