The Youth Leadership Awards Dinner is UCAN’s flagship fundraiser held annually. This important evening is dedicated to celebrating the academic and personal achievements of UCAN’s outstanding youth. Each year, five exceptional young people are recognized and receive scholarships for higher education.
UCAN is thrilled to present our seventh annual John D. Nichols Impact Award to David J. Vitale in recognition of his positive impact on youth and families in Chicago.

About UCAN
UCAN believes that youth who've suffered trauma can become future leaders and strives to build strong youth and families through compassionate healing, education and empowerment. Founded 150 years ago as a Civil War orphanage, UCAN is one of Chicago’s oldest, yet most innovative, social service agencies.
At UCAN, we strategically look to develop a holistic and lifelong relationship with the more than 21,000 clients we serve, create a deep and lasting community impact and build a strong and sustainable agency for generations to come. We believe that our inspiring programs will help to break cycles of violence and abuse while instilling a powerful sense of hope for the future.
